TWP is back for a feminist book fortnight showcase at Drake’s on Monday, the 23rd of May. This annual nationwide celebration is the brainchild of the independent bookshop network, set up in the 1980s due to frustration with advances in feminist publishing. And the rally continues! We join the campaign for FBF as we have successfully done in 2018 and 2019, with poems and conversation responding to any book that has inspired our feminism.
What’s happening?
-A showcase of our favourite feminist texts, and powerful spoken word and poems inspired by the text, written and performed by Tees Women Poets.
-Donation-based TWP craft fair, Refreshments (kindly offered by Drake’s) with all proceeds donated to https://uwf.org.ua/en/ (UWF supports Ukrainian women in crisis)
-Browse through the amazing book store.
-Q and A and lots of conversation.
